Friday’s Jam

It’s Christmas. Time for THE BOSS to rock out a classic holiday tune as only he can.

  1. Hey, I didn’t see an email address for you, so I’m leaving a comment hoping you can help . A friend of mine ordered a LEGO Battle of Helms Deep for her son from the WB Shop several weeks ago. It said it had shipped. When she never received it, she called them and asked if they could track it for her. They told her then that it never actually shipped because they never actually had the item. They were also very rude to her when she asked if they had any intention of giving her this information. This is the only thing her son wants for Christmas. She had no idea it has been out of production for about a year and that it would be so hard to find (her only son and she’s not a LEGO mom). She has given up trying to find it but some of her friends and her parents are still searching so I thought I would ask you if you know of anyone who might have this set and be willing to part with it. She can’t afford to pay what people on ebay are asking for it, but she is willing to pay a fair price. We are hoping to find it somewhere in the DFW area (I know you are closer to Houston) so that she could still get it by Christmas but even if you knew of someone in another part of the country, late would be better than not at all. Anyway, just thought I’d ask if you knew of anyone willing to part with this set and help make a sweet little boy light up for Christmas.

    • I didn’t know it was a retired product – guess I haven’t been paying close attention. I’d start by filing a complaint with a supervisor in the customer service department of the WB Store online.
I did a quick Craigslist search and found this listing in the Houston area: (there were none in DFW). Craigslist isn’t always above board, but maybe contact this guy and see if you can work something out. Just remember don’t send him money without seeing/getting the product first. Finding retired LEGO products is one of the hardest things to do – I’m sorry it came to that!
Good luck! I hope something works out. Merry Christmas.!

      • Thanks. She’s official called off the search. She’s picked out something else she thinks he might like. Maybe for his birthday, the prices will be back to a more normal area. She was willing to pay more for it than it’s release price because I think she knew it was hard to find. She didn’t know that it was retired. But this time of year, people double the price and that just stinks. Thank you again for your help.
